hi folks,
Introduce myself... that sounds awfully egocentric. And drummers aren't like that. Or maybe we are- really deep down. Maybe all of us are. It sounds very individualistic right? But we are individuals. And that can give us pride. And then we're proud to be an individual. But why do we want to express that? Cause maybe our way to make a civilization with individuals everywhere would be sad if we never showed each other our individuality.
So introduce myself means show what makes me, me.
Well, I finally got one thing in my musical life that I can call me. And like many artists- I wrote it down- because its too involved to remember. And I've come here to this drum forum to share it. I'm a drummer. I'm a teacher in Paris, France. I'm an american. I love rhythm. I love thinking about it. I believe theres objectivities in rhythm- things that work and things that don't work. This gives me a good sense of right and wrong in drumming. But it stays individual right. I have my own rights and wrongs, just as all of you have your own rights and wrongs. The individual.
I play from the heart but understand that my head tells me I have a heart. So actually, I play to my heart. And it feels good. It feels like nothing else. And I ain't stoppin. I'm 26. And I love life. Sometimes it doesn't love me. And when that happens, I'm back in school. And I listen and I grow. Though, I'm usually the one puttin myself back in school. I have very high goals. I'm very hard on myself. And I don't like to be anything but honest.
Though if you really want to know who I am, I have a book for you all. And its FREE. Its a system on notation. A new one.
