The story of my new begining

Nevermind, don't do that.
My name is Matt and I am a drummer.
My story begins about a year ago, October of 05. I went over to my friend Derricks house one friday after work, got drunk and passed out on his couch. The next day my friend had to do some running around and I ended up tagging along. We ended up at one of Derricks friends places where his band was practicing. I ended up getting invited to jam with them. I thought I should explain at this point in the story I had absolutly ZERO musical ability (or so I thought) and no musical experence at all. When his friend Ryan asked if I played an instrument I said "No, but I'd like to give those drums a try" So I jumped behind the drumkit he had, Ryan started doing some basic power chords and I somehow managed a basic 4/4 beat, in time with the music. Needless to say everyone including myself was amazed. Not at exactly what I was doing but the fact I was doing it. at first Ryan and his band were a little sceptical; they thought I was joking about never playing drums before. So everyone advised me to go get a kit for myself and some lessons too. So here I am, a little over a year later and I am genueninely not bad. I really got serious about drumming in september, and it's what I want to do for an eventual carrer. Knowing what I'm going to do with my life is a wonderfull feeling, believe me.  |
