Hi there, just popping in here as time allows, great to have these sites available nowadays, the drumming community never looked so strong.
A few familiar names on this site. I hail from way down in the deep south of New Zealand. My haunts are Tiger Bill's drumhead forum (my p.c won't let me back after leaving a while ago) and Drummer Caf'e web sites.
I also am a member of non related Classicbike.net, and Triumph Owners Club forums.
Here is a link to my local Musicians Club site, please sign the guestbook.

New Zealand has it's own unique drummer site ...

unfortunately i found this forum was not interesting and left due to a few younger drummers out to see who could get the most posts, and many good threads developing to "my drum is better than your drum" immature type stuff, hope that doesn't happen here.
It is helpful if people stick to the topic and add to topics rather than start one a week later asking similar questions. This keeps the web site tidier and useful to everyone.
About myself... i started at age 12 and played in a pipe band drum corp to 19. I then bought an old kit to pass time during recovery from a MVA and was in a band no time. I had learnt only a simple rock beat and was out gigging, so had to wing it a lot and listen to advice from guitarists. Self taught i haven't stopped playing in mostly covers bands since and have become versatile at a host of styles. Went back to drum corp to help them out for a few years until health prevented me marching with a drum).
At 46 i consider myself as an intermediate level player, a hobby that has paid for itself, there is just so much to learn yet, and drumming has been so much fun.
