Hello All!!

Hello everyone!! I am new here. I am from Louisiana. I have been playing drums for about 20 years. I have owned a bunch of kits throughout my life. My wife says I am never satisfied lol. Some of my past kits include Pearl Export Select, Tama Rockstar,Taye Tour Pro, Tama Starclassic, Dw Collectors, Roland TD20 kit(kept a month)a couple of my first when i first started playing...Rogers,Slingerland,Ludwig. And finally my current kit... 6 piece Mapex M-Birch with Aquarian Response II heads. I not nearly consider myself a pro. But if I can help anyone however with any tips or suggestions I will be glad to do so.

Hey, nice to meet you. Sorry I didn't catch up with you a while ago, but I've busy with my band.

Glad to have someone with alot of product knowledge. Tell me, why did you move on from the DW?

Well loved the Dw's. But my wife and I came into some financial hardships and I pretty much had to sell them. She didn't want me to, but I felt I had no choice. But like I said I have been blessed with owning different high end kits as well as some entry-intermediate kits as well. Truthfully I am very happy with my 6 piece Mapex M Birch though. Just put some new Aquarian Response 2 heads on them and they sound wonderful. Lol check this out..before my wife and I got married we were just living together well I had a Tama Starclassic Performer set in white silk wrap. Well one day we split up and I moved away. I left majority of my stuff at the house we had shared because I was going to come back and get it at a later date. Well to make a long story short, she sold my Starclassics AND a P.A. system I had ALL OF IT for like $1,100 I believe. The Starclassics weren't even 3 months old. Bummer huh? But now we are married. Never will forget that though lol.

Welcome Blake nice to have another person to bounce things off of. I empathize with you about having to sell grear, been there done that. We put an addition on the house about 20 years ago. I had to sell the only thing I knew I could get enough money for to finish the job. An early 70s model sunburst Less Paul Custom. I still kick myself for selling that one, Especially when I see what they are selling for now.

How goes it man? How are those Taye drums anyway? I've been wanting to check them out, but no one seems to carry them.

Pyrochazm.. I had the Taye Tour Pro's. They are second best in the Taye lineup next to their Studio Maple's. The drums had an excellent sound. But I prefer Tama, Pearl and even Mapex;s hardware to Taye. You may have already heard Ray Ayotte formerly Ayotte drums oversees Taye drums. They are reasonably priced though.
