Hello drummers, Sure wish this was available when I was starting to play 41 years ago!!! I quit playing about 8 years ago due to a sickening feeling everytime I played with members who couldn't see anything except themselves playing..Made me want to vomit! But my wife (whom had never seen me in a band before) bought me a set of Gretsch drums for my birthday and told me to get back in the saddle... What a great woman. I love playing again and even if I'm 54 years I can still rock on with a dbl kick and play all the stuff that's going on now and in the past.. Man is it fun. I also collect albums (for fun). I play them once to record then shelve them for safety of being scratched. Being I'm new here I know I'll check back and read other threads from all of you. Keep on drummin!!!!SC from Minnesota

Playing music is one hell of a ride. I'm 67 & am doing about the same thing you are. I don't EVER want to get off this horse. Glad to have you with us. Please -tell us some of your war stories on "Musician Stories" under the "Drummers" thread. GRETSCH drums are awesome. I always wanted some, never got to do it. Shoot! Now I'm all envious. Any way, Welcome aboard a great drummers site. Nice to have you here.

Thanks, us old fellers aren't lost just a little dusty, I still love to rock and when I can, play with a band (that's the best). Lookin for a band that needs me in central Minn. Thanks again.

Just keep sniffin' around & kickin' at the doors. That's what I do. I'm getting so old, I think maybe the younger bands don't want a fossil on the stage. Maybe they're afraid I'll have a heart attack & fall over on the drums. I'm in better shape than most of them. I just look ancient.
I hope you link up with some one soon. It's not fun sitting around playing to cd's. forever.

Thanks, I think I need to kick more doors and sniff a little harder. Or maybe I'm "gettin perticuler", anyway, I can't wait to play with somebody soon. It has always been easier playing live than with tracks. But I still play...

Stevenc--Sorry it took me so long to hobble over here sonny. It sounds like we're in the same boat. If I'm on the other oar, that would explain why we're just going in circles. I'll just jump overboard & swim the 5 miles to shore- (in a hurricane) so that you can make some progress. Meanwhile if I make it to shore without drowning (did I mention the hurricane??), that might shut up that young kid, Skinsluffer or whatever his name is ---can't remember now. Sure hope I survive.

Just got off my saddle and my left kick leg is sore from dbl kick'n. Sometimes I get lost in my little world downstairs and forget to check the net. I will be forgivin!
