LOL, Anchovies are the most important ingredient in Caeser Salad.....They are also amazing when lightly crumbed, shallowed fried and caught in the Freo region.....

Hey! New here in the forum. 36y/o from Eastern PA. Married to a true hottie and have two children. Daughter is 5 and son is 10. I've always loved the drums and finally broke down and got a set (witht he wifes permission of course). It was only like a $500.00 new set and I plan on changing out the heads to Remo pinstripes with the Powerstroke coated snare. Also plan on adding Zildjian Planet Z cymbals. Not going to go all extravegant. I'm only doing it as a hobby. 14" high hits, 16" crash and a 20" ride. It's a beautiful 6-pc wine red set. So, I'm up for some input on the heads I plan on getting in the very near future and also on the cymbals. It gets to be an expensive hobby (as you all know). I've been hitting the set everyday in my basement and now my wife is wondering on what she thought when she allowed me to get them. But hey, the kids love them and my daughter is picking up the roll on the toms quite well! Rock on!

Neil Peart. It's set as my wallpaper. I think he's a great drummer and I like the $60,000.00 DW set.

Hey--Welcome aboard

Drumsticks; Good to have you aboard. Lot's of good guys here. It's really a crying shame that you weren't able to get a photo of a decent looking drum set for your wallpaper. Pretty good try though.

Something fishy about this

Mr. Give-me-a-beating--the problem with anchovies is they smell like---never mind,---you know what they smell like.

I'll try and get some pics of the new set in a few days. Been working way too much and it's time to relax and hit the drums. Relaxing for me. Craziness for the wife. All is good in life Just ordered my Remo pinstripe heads for my toms and the Powerstroke III coated for my snare. Looking forward to getting them. I need some input on cymbals here. Sabian or Zildjian. I've been looking at the Zildjian Planet Z cymbals but I see alot of people are using the Sabians. Any suggestions?

Planet Z's are alright for beginners, but you will most likely grow sick of them after a short while. If you want to start off good, you could try buying pro gear used, (cymbalcellar.com or ebay for good prices) or go for a more mid-level line if you dont want to drop the dough for pro-level gear. IMO though, one good cymbal is far better than an army of B8's, Zxt's or Planet Z's....Let us know what you eventually pick.
