Hi, I stumbled upon this place by accident, and figured it be a good way to compare myself to other drummers of different calibur.
Thing is, I play the drums entirely by ear.

Like most young drummers, I play ina church band, and more of a solid rock drummer, but I find myself getting into more and more 'exotic stuff'
Umm, I guess the thing that may set me apart is my age. I am 15 and have been playing... 6 1/2 years.
((When your this young you can keep track of the month you started ))

So yeah, I have tons of stuff I'd like to check out, such as tuning techniques for sets without any mics, recording techniques which I have access to a couple mixer boards and equipment and can temporarily mic a set, and just listening to some older folks play will be cool. So hi ^^, I am Casey and its nice to meet you.

Ooh. Set details. As vivid as I can
Taye
7 piece.
10, 12, 13, 16, 18 in toms.
4 Sabian Crash
Can't recall exact measurements ^^
Ride, Splash, China, Hi-hat
Zildjan Titanium Series (recently a canceled series)
Double Bass Pedal

Hey man, nice to have you here. What Gus is trying to say is I plugg a site called the online tuning bible a lot, which has great, in deapth annalysis of all accoustic elements of the drumset. I don't actually subscribe to tuning electronic drums.

Love the sizes you've got on that setup. That would be my dream set, but I like my second bass too much and That's hard enough to lugg around let alone an "18 floor tom aswell. What series is your set?

Yeah the floor tom is huge 0.0

But honestly I couldn't tell you the series.

I played back-up for the guys I am with now for 2 years before I actually started full time. So the drummer before me, kind of my mentor good friend of mine (playing for 14 years), ordered it custom set-up.

The only orders I had to do was my crashes. Originally it was two and two. @ Sabians, 2 Zildjians. Since then I converted to four Sabians.

Also, I am about to purchase new head for my 5 toms.
Thinking of going with Remo WeatherKing, any suggestions?

not WK's get pinstripes... you can play any styles of music with them.

relly if SKSL comes up with an excuse (if you get electronic drums) nod your head and obay the orders, he knows every thing about drums(there arnt any dumb drummer jokes that fit his discription).

You're too kind Guss.

My fav drum head is evans g2 clear. I've only recently been turned onto them after trying everything remo had, and I love them. Do yourself a favour and go to their website. Check out how many people play these heads. You'll no doubt find some of your idols and will have heard them on some of your fav albums.
