try buying your cymbals sepritly ex: AAX stage hats dont sound as good as fution hats in my eyes(really ears).But HHX hats dont sound that bad especily the stage which u could be getting.

Looks like im not going to be able to get enough money for the set I wanted Heres some used sets I was looking at. Heres the descriptions:
Vex 5 pce.
2 boom stands, Gibraltar dbl kick pedals, Sabian AA crash, Sabian B8 crash, Sabian B8 hats, Sabian ride (not sure which type), and a Sabian AA splash. $450
CB 5 pce.
5 symbals, all Sabian B8's, (crash, ride, hats, splash and chinese.) Comes with a few scattered accessories like a cowbell. He says cymbals alone were over $600, asking $550 for everything.
I don't know which one is the better deal, ill be going to check both sets out for myself. I think im more geared towards the Vex, even though Ill have to look up the durability of both brand names because I dont know which name is better.

Too bad you live so far away. I have a extra set of Pearl Export EX for sell. They are good kits. Of coarse I love my Pearl Reference kit but that took almost 35 years to get that :-). I know I am a Pearl person but the Eliminator is a really good pedal. I am using a Pearl Eliminator double pedal and really like it. I also agree with Guss buy cymbals seperatly. 1 at a time if you have to. I believe in getting stuff you really want slowly as long as ou have something to practice and play with now. No pun intended.
Hey man no worries about the powerbeat, its an all-right brand, i got a mix of different skins, i got pro Remo on snare, powerbeat for all 3 toms, and DXPercussion on Bass drum (which is like a cheap immitation of powerbeat)
also skinslapper my pedal (kicker) is falling apart too lol...
i got a tip for you, it doesnt matter what brand cymbal u buy, just go into a music shop and hit the one you want lightly, if it sounds good to you, buy it. i got a bargain on mine by doing that
some of the oldest(does age relly matter) AND smartest drummers, have mixed cymbal kits, i say if you want all of the same kind, get endorced, and have them clipping your toenails for you too.
