Me, Myself, and My Drums

Hello everyone. My name is Ross, or if its for a jazz gig Dues. I've only been playing drums for about a year, but because of almost constant practice I'm becoming pretty good.

My drumset is borrowed from friends of family, and they got it at a garage sale so it's not the most amazing set ever. That being said, my uncle (drummer of Footlong and percussionist since elementary), hooked me up with some cymbals, cymbal stands, a throne (yeah I didn't have one..), and a better bass pedal. So now I own (not borrowed) a Paiste 16 in. thin crash, two Paiste 18 in. crash, a pair of 14in. Sabien hi hats, an LP cowbell, 3 cymbal stands, a Pearl bass pedal, a throne, and a retired marching crash (which serves as a ride) [though my uncle wants this one back once I get a new ride]. However, for all intents and purposes, I have no drumset for these lovely items. Relatively soon I am going to purchase a Pearl H-820W hi hat stand. After that I will slowly replace drums until I have a whole set of my own (hopefully with some nice Remo heads). Then I won't really be worried about losing my kit at any given time...

Since I started playing, my playing focuses mainly on rock and grunge, though my experience playing bass guitar for jazz combos and big bands has slightly increased my ability to play jazz and swing.

Currently I am starting a grunge revival band (playing Nirvana and Soundgarden style music), and may join a Jazz combo with some people from my school.

I was aware of Nirvana's origins.... anyway. Yeah will do. Unfortunatly I have few available cameramen and I won't be in contact with my drumset for several days.
