girl drummer from california hi boys..... i've been drumming for a few years now. well, i actually started about 30 years ago when i was in jr. high school(to the dismay of the boy drummers the band leader let me play double toms and bass drum in the marching band), but never had the room, money, space to get a real set of drums up until about 5 years ago. so, yeah, i'm kinda older than you would expect, but i love hard rocking music!! anyway, i have a mapex pro m 5-piece (maple) in a one-up-two-down configuration---- in vanilla cream pearl. it's a killer set. sounds awesomely thunderous with an aquarian superkick II on the 24" kick. i put aquarian performance II heads on all the toms(13" 16" and 18"). i'm tweaking with the snare to get it sounding it's best---experimenting with several different heads and snare strands. i would love to upgrade the cymbols, though. right now all i have are an assortment of sabian B8's. not the best cymbols in town. but, hey, i'm not super rich either. i also have a roland v-tour electronic set that i play when i need to play quietly. it's a lot of fun, and has an incredible amount of sounds.
my favorite drummers are ginger baker and john bonham.
i play in a band with a couple of friends, but it's a little frustrating as they like folk and pop music.... yuck!!.... where are all the rockers up here in the sierra foothills??? especially women rockers---- i can't be the only one!!
anyway i would like some advice: i can get fairly good speed with the bass pedal, but i would like to be able to do ROLLS with it..... any tips??? |
