Another New Member Is Here!!!

Hey everyone!

I'm sort of an all-around musician; which is kinda like saying, "I know a little about a lot, but not everything about anything."

I have always enjoyed the drums. I started out playing snare in grade school back in like 1993, but I eventually got my set in '96 and have been playing on-and-off since then.

My set isn't anything impressive, but I'm looking to upgrade pretty much everything, henceforth triggering my search for a forum.

Cool, welcome to the forum. What kind of kit are you upgrading?

Re: Another New Member Is Here!!!

My kit is an old black 5-piece Sunlite NS-509 from 1996. Since then I've tossed the stock snare, added a disengaged Yamaha Snare for an extra tom sound, and added a Pearl Slipknot 13"x6.5" snare for that nice tight piccolo sound. I've also tossed the single pedal and upgraded to a cam driven PDP double bass pedal. All drums are in Remo Ambassador Pinstripes, or Ebony Ambassador Pinstripes. I also have two cowbells (LP 4-3/4", and Pearl Anarchy) for some fun tones when needed.

I'm looking to upgrade my hardware, and upgrade to a great cymbal package very soon, but it looks like there is a lot to learn about picking out sounds so I can describe what I'm loking for.
