Hi, I'm Larry and I've been drumming for 36 years. I have a fiberglass Fibes kit that I bought new back in the seventies. Currently I am trying to put it back to its original condition. (just missing the bottom rims from the toms and a hoop for the bass drum). I have all Zildjian cymbals. I like to find drum items at garage and estate sales. I have 2 Pearl snares, and a Kent snare that I found at garage sales. At one sale I found 2 zildjian cymbals, a Tama rack tom and 3 Blackhawk toms in a garbage dumpster! Also found a real old snare with no identifying marks, looks to be maybe from the 30's or 40's. This is my first time posting on a drum forum. Thanks for reading, Lar.

Welcome Larry! I'm pretty new here too, so I'm still getting the hang of this place too. I've been drumming since '93, so I'm not quite tio your caliber, but I play around.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I've been playing on and off in those years so my chops aren't what they should be. It's hard to keep up with practicing and playing with a band and trying to raise a family and all that goes with it. But I manage to get in a couple gigs a year with my old bandmates. Nothing fancy, just party type things. But its fun. The last year or so my wife opened my eyes to the wonderful world of garage and estate sales. Its amazing what you can find. So now I'm always looking for drum and musical items at these sales. you can find some good deals at these sales. Again, Thanks. Larry

From one "New" "Old" guy to another, Hello back. I've been doing a high level review of this site since discovering it just today ( stumbled upon the site while exploring for 12 step programs for people with cymbal fetish - itis, also known as CFI in the medical community) and I'm just amazed that such a forum exists and the generous free and open exchange of all that is drumming by its members. Haven't been happier since I returned to playing last year and didn't realize how much I missed it AND talking with other drummers. Today, the latter was fulfilled. Wow. See ya on the posts.
