Hello from snowy Maine

Been a drummer before, but its been 40 years. Bought Premier XPK 5 piece drumset, 24" copper timpani, Cooperman repaired rope marching snare, and some odd equipment that just happens to trail me around. I met Vic Firth when he played for the Boston SO.
Now I want to connect to drummers in Maine. I live in Waldoboro.

Re: Hello from snowy Maine

You ain't kiddin' it's snowy! I'm in Portland, and It's a mess right now.

Welcome to the site. I'm fairly new here too. They're pretty informative here. I think you'll like this site.

So, what's happenin'? Lookin' to make some noise with other drummers, or just lookin' for someone who can relate?

getting active

ded548, Im waiting for my kit to arrive, sometime next week. Im timid about letting anyone hear me play because I cant. Im going to play again though and have the right place to play. Im calling a local drummer who will play with me for 1 1/2 hours for 25$! so Im taking him up on it. if I hear my music voice again, then others will want to listen, but now, Its a whimper that needs guts...
we had a fatality on RT 1 here in Waldoboro. Off to the toboggan races tomorrow. Harry

Re: getting active

Well more power to ya'! Get your groove back and you'll be remembering chops you knew back in the day. It'll all come back to ya', just takes practice.

I'm goin' through hell myself over here. I first learned how to play on a 4-peice single bass kit, but I've upggraded my kit to a 6-peice with a drop clutch on my hats, and a double bass pedal. Now I sound like I never learned how to play in the first place, lol.
