Heh, I guess the forum wont let me post links without at least 1 post first, so I figured I might as well introduce myself here too! I'm looking for my first kit and could use some advice, I posted in the Drum and Drum Sets forum.
If cost isn't an issue, than I would suggest a pearl drum set, but if you can't afford one then you should just buy the best that you can afford. But when you do buy one make sure that it comes with cymbals.
