Howdy! from the middle east o_o

Hey there!
i'm moe.. 14 years old, been playing drums for one and a half years, my influences are : John Bonham, Neil Pert, Buddy Rich, Mike Portnoy, Dave Weckl, and Keith Moon...
i have probably the worst drum set on this site.. its a "legion" drum set, not even a proper brand, 5 pieces, two tom-toms, one floor tom, a dented crash, a broken hi-hat stand, and a torn kickdrum... i can play well, but i just can't seem to get better because i dont have a hi-hat that actually works, and no double bass... because the place i live in, is friggin expensive, and that trash drum set i have cost me $500 when i could've bought a ludwig in america or something... -.- and yeah i cant buy a hi-hat stand either because they cost about $150 to buy indvisiually, drum lessons are $30 an HOUR, that means i have to pay a fortune in a month.. so my internet is my only retrieve.. so hi!
btw i will post pictures of my trash drum set later :P so you can feel my pain and misery xD

Hey man, nice to have you here. I reckon your struggle with your aging set can offer a lot of inspiration and advice to us more privaledged individuals.

Can't wait to get a look at your beast. Hang in there friend.

Which country are you from?

Nice to have you here, you can give us a lot of advice about how to make the best out of less than spectacular equipment.

I've been to Bahrain... back in my military days.
I'm sure you might be able to find some military folk there who are bored and have
tools at their disposal.

Take this for what it is worth...
If you can look past what the kit is lacking you should be able to learn just fine. I started with
a 4 piece Japanese offbrand that I bought for $50 off a friend. I had to replace all the drum heads over time and finally got the kit sounding wonderful after a few years time.

If you can get your hands on some evans heads I'd recommend them. I don't think I can buy any other brand of head now. They sound great and are durable to a fault.
