Hola all fellow drummers

Just wanted to say hello to all the people out there
I found out about this site b/c I was looking for a pic of a view behind a triple bass set

Anyway, I want some people opinions on wether if it's better to have 2 bass drums or one bass drum with double bass pedals

And what are your best methods of playing double bass?

Re: Hola all fellow drummers

I'm not gonna vote, because I'm a little swayed myself at the moment. I have a 2x "22 bass drum kit.

Pro's; no muffling from the second beater and slight tuning differences from the two drums will give you a bigger sound. It looks cool. You get a slightly better action with the pedal on the drum (but that's nothing a good quality pedal won't fix)

Con's; transportation, tuning, extra channel on the mixing desk, more mics, and I even find the feel of the double pedal keeps my playing more in check.

In short, my cannons have had a good run and I'll continue to use them while I've got 'em, but for my next kit, I'm strongly erring on the side of getting one "24 boomer and a DW pedal.

I have never wanted a double bass kit... I just can't get everything close enough when there are two big drums taking up so much space.

I personally haven't found that to be a big issue and I too, like a closed in set. I guess I did have to move my floor toms a bit further back, but that's the only space difference I had.

I prefer one bass drum with a double pedal, it just takes up less space although if I had space enought a 2 bass drum kit is more eye-filling.
