welcome new friend! as far as pedals are concerned i've played nothing but iron cobras and have been nothing but satisfied. they seem to do the trick for me and are at a good price. and for your open hand blast beats - i love that you play them! but try to work on getting your hands at equal strength and consistency so that you can play them both open and closed, that will also help in expanding to more complex beats in the future. don't worry. i struggle with that myself, but it always good to have something to work on and push yourself!
