Exclamation I just joined

I can play them drums okilly dokilly, and I have an electronic 5 piece with double kick.
I like to use crossed hand for most beats, but I use open hand for blast beats. I have been able to play drums for a while, but I just got my set for christmas.

Congratulations on the Christmas gift Pink. I bet you you're having a blast with the kit.

You've got to explain your screen name -- it's too cool.

I don't know... I made it up a while ago and I just use it for everything...
I was playing guitar hero (I played guitar before the game) and I made that as my name randomly.

Re: I just joined

BTW does anyone know any good cheap double kick pedals? I have a crappy PDP one I got for free, and I can't do anything except 8th notes, and 32nd note flams. It's a terrible pedal. I tried a DW 9000 single, and it was amazing compared to my PDP.

Re: I just joined

LOL.. Good and cheap are not to be used in the same sentence...

Seriously if they are good, they aren't going to be cheap...

The DW 9000 are DW's top of the line, they better be faster/better than the PDP's lol...

I like the Axis pedals ALOT but again, they aren't cheap. I had a Axis A pedal and regret ever letting it go--irreplaceable... Oh well...

Yeah... My friend has the DW 5000's, which are great, this is the same friend that gave me the PDP's. The only thing I hate about Axis (having never tried them) is that they are ugly as hell. I think that they run about $500, same with the DW 9000. I guess drummers don't care how ugly the pedals are because they are hidden by the bass drum.
If I tighten the PDP's springs up all of the way, and drop my foot about 10 inches above the pedal, dead-weight, the beater won't hit the trigger. To play the PDP's fully tightened, I have to lift my feet off of the pedal, and throw them down, which tells just how great they are.

Well when it comes to pedals, function > looks. It better work well.. the Axis pedals are in my opinion the best pedals because they are so adjustable and you can tune them in to your playing style or to match the action of another pedal if you desire-- so they are way more versatile and in my opinion are the fastest pedal I've ever played. And--I think they are kinda cool looking.. lol Oh well

I can recomend the sonor 400, I'[ve been using it for a whilenow and it's serving me well.

If you're after something faster (of course you are) dw 5000's or pearl powershifter. They both play like their more expensive brothers just not as much adjustability.

I don't know those pedals, but what happens if you slacken the springs off all the way, almost to the furthest point possible? That's how I set up my single pedals and I know other famous drummers do that. It means your beater is bouncing off the kick drum head just like a stick bounces off the batter head of a drum. You get speed from the bounce and control with the feet. You might have to change your playing style -- I play heel down -- but I'd recommend it because you can control the volume of the bass strokes too.

Just a thought...but like I said, I don't know if it'll work with double pedals. I hate fighting against springs, which sounds like what you're doing. I've got a single pedal from the 60s and another $20 single pedal that works amazingly well with the springs loosened off almost completely.

I think your screen name would make a good band name.
