I have played double bass for 20 years my advise is to first master your right foot
then you can bring your left foot into the mix. patterns of twos up to sixes with
each foot right then left, left then right. this will get old,but it will pay off. It will
also enable you to do triplets down the road

Hope this helps you,and it will!

Fastfoot, do you mean practising RRLL repeat, RRRLLL repeat, RRRRLLLL repeat etc. up to groupings of 6?

My suggestion, kickass, is to play any snare exercises from a book with your feet and add a simple rock beat with the hands to keep time. Very effective exercises to build up speed are accented 16 note studies played with alternating foot strokes. And for variation you can play double strokes wherever the accent falls (ie. they'd be 32nd notes if you're playing accented 16 notes).

If you do a search at other parts of this forum you'll find more suggestions.

Yes give it a try.It is a simple way build your weaker foot. You can go to 12s,18s
24s and so on when ready. you can also close your hat and play straight time
on that or a ride useing ONLY your weaker foot to add fills under the straight
time your playing. If I could figure out how to post things on this site, drum pics,
solos.. as i am two days new to this site I would show you.

Hope this helps

Practice makes perfect. Just keep playing and make sure your right foot is solid and good. Makes it easier to add the left in. Just practice it frequently and you should have it down soon.

My habit is to play my left foot like my right. Simple beats with my right foot off the pedal to gain coordination in my left foot.
