double pedal help i have been using the same double bass pedal for a while, and now it's getting worn and started to fall apart. problem is... it's the ONLY double pedal i've used. i like it, but i would like to switch to a better pedal, one that's smoother, and better quality. i haven't the slightest idea which direction to go... can someone give me some advice, or get me pointed in the right direction? |

Re: double pedal help Always go better quality if you can afford to do so!
It doesnt have to mean spending a great deal of money, just find something robust that feels good under your foot.
My suggestion, however, is that you ARE going to upgrade, do it once and buy the best you can. Going halfway to an intermediate pedal will mean youre likely to buy again in a few years time = wasted money. |

Re: double pedal help thank you, that is a very good point. i started with a cheapy pacific, and i'm really thinking about going to the Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal, or an axis, but i've heard mixed reviews about both |

Re: double pedal help Once you get into the relm of eliminator and axis, it all boils down to personal preferance. Go to your local shop and try every pedal in the joint and by that I mean play them, tweek them, stick them on a drum hell, drive your car over them if you have to, just make sure you're buying the pedal that is made for you. |

I've owned both, -plus IC's. I prefer the Eliminator, strap drive. Axis are great, but IMO are for a specific style of drumming, mainly speed. I sold mine. If speed's not what your playing 95% of the time, I think and Eliminator or IC is the deal. Both of these pedals can be found on Ebay used for good prices. They will last with a little TLC for a long time. |

From what I've seen, they are amazing. Light, adjustable and everything else you'd probably want in a pedal. If you wanna find out more go here Drum Set Cymbals or http://twurl.nl/7vdzbb
Hope this has helped!

Re: double pedal help I've owned Iron Cobra's and Pearl Eliminators.. In my opinion, the Pearl Eliminators are the best I've used. They are very light (unlike the Iron Cobra) and super smooth. The interchangable cam's is interesting but you will likely pick one and stick with it.
But like someone said, try out the pedals before you buy - it will all come down to personal preference. Maybe try to rent out a set if you can.. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
