Introduction

Hello, I'm a lifelong musician who began playing in top 40 bands at age 14 (in the 70's) and attended a southern US college to study music. I later left music to pursue other interests, but have continued to keep my chops up and have done some short gigs over the years. I have played gospel, rock, reggae, jazz and funk. I do read, write and arrange. I also play several brasses, flute and percussion. My wife says I'm best on trumpet but I like drums too; they really relax me. I've been playing both for almost 40 years. I like to explore complex rythyms, odd times and dynamic contrasts. I hope to enjoy belonging to this forum and hope I have something valuable to contribute.

Re: Introduction

Versatility is a good thing to have. I've tried guitar and played a little piano myself. Keep on with the gospel, because it promotes the blues segment and the horn keeps the jazz.

Nice work and keep on trucking.
