I need Yalls opinion... Hey everybody,
drew here and i need yalls help on an important project im coming up on. so im starting an alternative band and i need to refurb my current kit. its a 5 piece birch kit and it needs some definite work.
i already have g pluses on my reso heads and i need new batter heads that dont leave much overtone but still maintain a coated low sort of sound. in addition i want a snare sound with a nice crack and not much overtone either and the best part is i have stock heads so there is room for experimenting. one downside though i have a broken lug and i need to replace it along with new tension rods. and on the bass i need a head that i can reso-hole in order to get a mic in there for studio work.
in the way of cymbals im thinking sabian or zildjian but i am still open to others.im looking for a 20 inch ride 16 and 17 crashes and 14 inch hats and maybe a china or splash. the only thing on this part is im trying to keep it under 500$
i look forward to hearing from yall i believe that the best drummers on the net are on here and im hoping yall can help me out
Cheers
Drew

Re: I need Yalls opinion... DrummerDrew, welcome to the forum. I move your post to the Drummer Introduction section on the forum.
If you tells us what brand kit and how many pieces, it would narrow down the search for us.
I have a 9 Gretsch Custom kit and I use Remo Pinstripe heads all around and resonator rings.
Have you tried Musiciansfriend.com yet. There's lots of drum gear there.

Re: I need Yalls opinion... I think maple and birch are really personal.
Maple is more of a "Rock" wood IMO.
I personally use birch.
But that is also blended with Basswood. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
