Post Introduction

Hi, I'm Shane Peck from Seattle, Washington. I play in several groups in the area, styles including Jazz, electro/art-pop, drum & bass, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s covers, surf, improvisational and abstract. I currently play on a Precision Percussion 5 piece, Maple and mostly Sabian cymbals. I just ordered a new shell pack of Yamaha, birch, Stage Customs as a new gigging kit, so I am hoping to get some ideas on what heads people are using on them for versatility, ect..
Thanks! Cheers!
Shane

Re: Introduction

Shane, thanks for reply - about the heads - i use clear remo pinstripes as batters on toms, clear ambs as resos; coated amb reverse dot as snare batter - hazy amb on the snare side. Not sure about the bass drum - used double ply clear pinstripe (22"x16" bd) - doesn't sound good enough, and i tried all tuning tips i found on youtube - could be the mike hole - but you've got to have one. vg
