I need help deciding what double bass pedal i should go with. I liked the idea of duallist single-double bass pedal, but then i read the reviews and it turned out it isn't a very good pedal for keeping fast beats. Can anyone suggest a well manufactured double bass pedal that won't burn a hole in my pocket?

probably about 400, I am not too sure how much my parents will help me out

you can get a pretty nice pedal for $400. DW 5002s are great. theyre a bit under 400 if i remember right. i dunno how much 9000s are, but theyre probably a bit over.

Ok thankyou, is this pedal good for high speeds? My friend wanted me to learn some slipknot.

slipknot is alright, but really theres alot better stuff. also, start out slow on your double pedal. i know its frustrating, cuz you wanna just blast right away, but really its better not to. try to learn the rudiments on your feet. its okay to like joey jordison, but expand your horizons and look up to someone better. im not saying youre one of the people who worship him, but it seems like every other drummer i meet loves him. sorry its just a pet peeve of mine.

also axis is a great brand, especially for high speeds. DW is what i use. axis is probably a bit over your budget, though.

alright so that DW pedal is good. I gave the example of slipknot on what type of music I play, I do know i need to start off slow, but I do want to acquire that speed. I just needed to know if that is the pedal to do it.

i also know some people here use tama iron cobras. ive played them and theyre great, but i like DWs better.

so basically, in my opinion, the best three choices would be:
DW 5002 (or 7002, like $100 less, and what i have)
Tama Iron Cobra
or if you wanna spend a bit more, DW 9002 or Axis

also, youll be frustrated in the beginning probably, but stick with it and youll get those high speeds.
how long have you been playing? and what kind of kit do you have?

I've been playing for about a year. I still have a begining drum set but I had recently bought some sabian B8 cymbals. I want to get good on my crappy set before I get a worthwhile drum set.
