I have been playing on/off for 15 years. I found the forum looking for snare drums. Wassup?! |

What kinds of music do you like to play, and what are your drumming goals these days? |

Re: HI Hey venom!
Very nice starboard leaning z connection,..kind of groovy man, but why are you poo-pooing snare drums in general with an off the cuff 'Pfft'? My snare seldom comes in close proximity to my olfactory equipment. Are you a snare sniffer? |

As far as goals, i would like to build up the kit, and add a bass player to the band, possibly even some horns...
I am very excited today....older gentleman that no longer plays is dumping his gear on craigslist, and I am meeting him tonight. The stuff looks cherry, and his prices are VERY reasonable. Today is a day, as a drummer I love to be a drummer. New equipment is |

What is your drumset composed of now and what kind of goodies is the 'older gentleman' that no longer plays dumping on Craigslist? How old is the 'older gentlemen? I am an older gentleman, but have no plans whatsoever to dumping my kit no matter how old I get. I'll most likely sign up for drum classes in the great beyond if I get a chance to spend my afterlife there and not in the warmer climes. Maybe I should start looking into the details for taking my kit with me. Do you suppose heaven has a house band? They sure are wasting alot of talent if they don't. |

Re: HI Dean, with your knowledge of testing and equipment, you could surely rig a set for the warmer climes without much trouble.
Yeah, they've got a house band upstairs. Who do you spose is the drummer? |

Re: HI Hey Dtxt!
I'll look into the possibility of testing in the warmer climes, but may have some difficulty due to the temperature extremes, and potential problems interfacing with the operators. Most sophisticated testing equipment these days is very heat sensitive, and I doubt if the souls available at the help desk will really be much help with all the teeth knashing, wailing, etc. they must have to do during the course of a work day. It may be their schedule is based on eternity instead of the normal eight or nine hours. Also, I will have to check with the drum head manufacturers to determine what the melting point is for their heads. I may have to send the heads to UL to get them flame tested. This is a long process, but if eternity is factored into the equation,..well,..we will have to see. I would much rather talk to the players upstairs. I'm sure all the drummers gone before me will be there. Buddy Rich, and Mr. Bonham most likely manage the program. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
