Bo Eder is on a distinguished road

Hi everybody

Hello!

I'm Bo Eder from Southern California. I've been playing for over 30 years and used to be a staff percussionist for the Disneyland resort (1986-1996). I've done alot of study in college (MSAC jazz under Ashley Alexander, some at CSUF and UCLA), took a lesson with Ed Shaugnessy long ago, but got to pick the brains of guys like Jim Keltner, Steve Houghton, Carlos Vega, Joey Heredia, and John Hernandez (among others) just by hanging out at Pro Drum Shop in Hollywood.

I've owned lots of kits (my profile is with my first DW kit from 2003) but nowadays my primary kit is a vintage 1978 Ludwig solid black Vistalite (13, 16, and 22) with a black galaxy Ludwig Acrolite snare. I've owned the same Zildjians now for almost 20 years (14" New Beats, 20" K Custom Dark ride, and 18" A thin - I have a 17" A thin too, but I hardly use it). Add a cowbell and a tambourine to the kit and I'm good to go for anything. I do like the new DW 9000 pedals, though.

I'm a singing drummer, and currently perform solo (singing and drumming) with MIDI-file backup for the band. Whenever I can use live musicians, that's always preferable, but not many people want to pay for them!

My current occupation is as a sound engineer/stage-technician for the Disneyland Resort - a position which sprouted from every band I've ever played in at Disneyland getting laid off!

I'm here to trade ideas with other experienced drummers.

Re: Hi everybody

Welcome to Drumset Connect, Bo! It's an honor!

I guess the Pro Drum Shop is really as good as I've heard. I sing and play too -- nothing solo though.

Please get active in the threads, Bo, and start up some new ones where you think it's needed. We have a wide variety of drummers on the forum, quite a few with as much experience as yours. Should be albe to crank up a few good discussions.

Great to have you here!
