i play a 5pc. gretsch kit with drum workshop harware. 10" rims mounted tom on dw stand. 13" and 15" rims mounted toms on stand set as floor toms. 20"x18" bass drum. 1950's slingerland snare drum. i ordered it piece by piece to get it how i wanted it. i've played in all kinds of bands from rock to hip-hop to jazz. almost anything. currently restoring a 1980 pearl kit for a friend who's just starting to play. (80's drums are as inexpensive restore.)

i got my first kit when i was 7, a 4pc whitehall stencil set that i wish i still had. i taught myself to play by listening to stevie wonder and p-funk records. i finally learned to read music in seventh grade and have been playing in one form or another ever since. (so i've been playing for 29 years.) i recently started teaching again (which i actually have no patience for) and restoring and building drums. how about you guys? how long and what's your style?

Some 50+ years, started at 8 on a friends Gretch 5 pcs kit. Got my own Ludwig 5pcs kit at 11.

Now a 9 pcs Gretsch rack kit.

Coaching kids here in NYC is fun and competitive drumming for them. Nothing big, just helping them out when I can. A little something to do now that I'm retired.

Mmmm 7 years...still with my first set; PDP CX Series.

I play marching percussion and set, so any style really.
