Mike Mangini new DT drummer So of seven of the world's best drummers, Mike Mangini has become the new drummer for the legendary prog band Dream Theater.
I think it's a great choice, but how do you guys feel about this? |

Re: Mike Mangini new DT drummer I don't expect DT to be like before, but if they are going to continue making music, Mangini is a pretty good match for them. |

Re: Mike Mangini new DT drummer He had 3 or 4 records, but I think a few have been broken. If my memory is correct, he currently holds one, but I know not what for. |

Re: Mike Mangini new DT drummer Checked it out. Mangini won the World's Fastest Drummer for Hands eight years in a row including 2010. Don't know about 2011. |

Re: Mike Mangini new DT drummer This is from Wikipedia: Quote: |
The Fastest Matched Grip at 1,247 single strokes in 60 seconds in 2005, Fastest Barehands, which he earned by executing 1,138 single stroke notes in 60 seconds in 2002, until Glen Caruba broke it with 1,140 notes in 2006. Fastest Traditional Grip which he earned by executing 1,126 single strokes in 60 seconds in 2003, a record that stood for five years before falling to Matt Smith (1,132) in 2008, and Fastest Single Stroke Foot record playing 13,222 hits in 15 minutes and 4,555 hits in five minutes; records that stood for two years before falling to Mike "Machine" Mallais (13,309/4,595) in 2007.
| And this is from the extremesportsdrumming website: Quote:
Current WFD Records: Matched Grip Singles - 1,247, Bare Hands Singles - 1,138,
Traditional Grip Singles - 1,126
| But according to wiki, bare hands and traditional singles are no longer his titles, so I think WFD needs to update their website. |
