Holy ****, check out this 10 year old

omg, check out this 10 year old drummer. He plays better than a lot of 30 year old seasoned pros.

Those chops are just amazing. Natural talent... It's just not fair.

When I have kids, they're going to start playing drums at 2 months.

Does anyone feel like kids should start drumming when they are tall enough to reach to foot pedal (which this one is)? It almost seems like parents exploit their childrens talent in that it seems that they should be at the park playing sports and chilling with their friend and learning social skills instead of investing their youth in drumming. I'd say 12-14 are perfect ages to start.
As for the solo, it seemed to be a conglamerate of single and double strokes with accents placed in various places, incredible chops, not to mention some well placed cross-sticking! I enjoy these types of solos very much. Though I'm are all capable of this I'm sure.
If he keeps it up and learns musical appropriatness he should be great!

I created a thread in the general forum on my thoughts about kids playing drum at an early age.

As for the solo itself, it's pretty solid for any age player. The kid has good chops and it's amazing what he can play at such a young age. The one thing that the solo lacks however is dynamics and general musical sense.
