Also, Buddy Rich's grandson Nick Rich is a drummer.

Do you mean just famous drummers or just drumming in the family in general?

I would think that a child of a drummer would be more likely to learn and be interested in drums from their parents.

For this thread I mean just Famous drummers that have other drummers in their family. I do agree that ordinary people that drum and have kids have a possiblity for that child or children to be drummer.

The Wackerman brothers, Chad - John and Brooks are all good drummers.

Sheila E and her father, Pete Escovedo;

Zakir Hussain Ustad Alla Rakha;

Walfredo Reyes Jr. and Walfredo Reyes Sr.;

I'm sure there area more, but those are a few that come to mind at the moment.

Do you all think having a family member famous for drums helps you to put your foot in the door and get better exposure?

Isn't Tony Royster related to Dennis Chambers somehow? I'm sure he wouldn't have gotten half the exposure he did if he wasn't tied to him somehow.

Absolutely! however, I think it would be difficult especially like in the case of Buddy Rich. His grandson Nick Rich plays drums. I don't know how good Nick is. But I do know I would want to have that kind of pressure being compare to Buddy.

Dennis Chambers is his favorite drummer and mentor.
