Terry Bozzio and Korn!

Korn and David Silvera were some of my biggest idols when they first came out. I used to practice their songs for hours and are responsible for many of my "signature licks".

After the "follow the leader" record I haven't been too impressed with their stuff, but I check in every now and then to see what they're up to.

You can imagine my shock when I saw the new unplugged video of "freak on a leash" (sounds pretty cool with the strings and piano) and there was no Mr Silvera. I thought maybe they'd lost all sensibility and ousted my idol.

Well, after some further investigation, I found that David has gone on hiatus for the year and who have they got to fill in on recording than Terry (the f#@kin man) Bozzio.

Think I'll have to buy this record. I did however buy Steve Vai's "sex and religion" for Bozzio and the album was a huge let down.

Hands up, who's buying it for Korn? Who's buyin it for Bozzio? Who's buyin it for both? Who's not buyin it at all and needs to be banned from the site?

I will have to check it out.I think it will be nothing like anyone is expecting.I think after years of being fairly underground,Terry is ready to put out something that will really sell records. He will go the less is more route...maybe.lol.

Pop-Korn

I'm very skeptical about the new Korn album. I stopped listening to them after Issues came out, mainly because when I heard a few songs off of the Untouchables and Take A Look in the Mirror albums I was a bit disappointed . There style on those cds didn't seem to stick with me like there previous albums. If you buy or hear it and think it's good let me know.

Ya know what? I just might but this album. Korn has (In my mind) Consistently gone downhill since after the relase of follow the leader. Then Silveria busted his wrist and did modeling for a while. But, this I just might have to check out.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm expecting anything musically wonderful, but the lure of those low end guitar riffs and Bozzio's mastery is not something I could pass up lightly.

to be honest, i don't think he will add much to the overall sound. he is just too good for their tuned-down minds. i mean, korn could never do the zappa or vai stuff, so we definately won't be hearing those chops. i don't think they will utilize him the way WE want. his stuff with thompson twins? yeah not much there. maybe they'll let him do a drum solo . hopefully live he plays his
huge set. now that would be worth seeing. did anyone see him on leno? they didn't even show that he was in the band. i saw him on the FAR left for about 1/2 second. BOO!

I'm not expecting anything to masterful either. To be honest, I don't think I'd want it. I bought Vais' "Sex and Religion" album to hear Bozzio's drumming and while all the playing was really well done, the music just sucked arse. I'm looking forward to a mix of the two on this album. I sorely hope they let terry bring some of that orchestral knowledge to the fold.

Thumbs up Re: Terry Bozzio and Korn!

I seen Mr. Bozzio with a friend in Kirkland WA. quite a while back in a clinic on ostinatos. We positioned ourselves behind him and could see everthing he was doing clearly. He was a very informative and really a nice & personable guy.

Re: Terry Bozzio and Korn!

I'm lucky i only listen to Motown, and classic rock and some country, as my big record labeled music, maybe pop punk, not that Emotional Elmo stuff(i mean i like the Remones, spelling might not be correct).I don't like allot of big labeled metal, only Spinal Tap and Iron maiden.
