| | Lars, it's not all about flash, it's about playing for the song in the giving situation, knowing when to play full out and when to sit back and drive.
Would Metallica be the same with another drummer on the throne, not likely.
Perhaps what i'm trying to say is less is sometimes more, he's not my cup of tea, none the less a very good drummer. Your drummer friend should look at the big picture, this is important in any band situation, you have to fit in with the rest of the band, you are not an individual (until they say solo that is). |

| | | Yea, I think his stuff sounds great when playing with Metallica. I wonder what Metallica would sound like with Joey Jordison/if for the concert Jordison played with Metallica if he'd done his own stuff instead of cover Lars. hmmm. |

Just that one of my friends(another drummer), well, he dislikes Lars because he's simple. Along with his mindset that Metallica are sellouts now. I disagree with him there, but half agreed with him about Ulrich. | KISS= KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID...
MINE: Peter, Paul and mary's drummer and Phil Collins drummer in the air tonight, also Phil Collins him self, and Ginger Baker

| | | Having Grown up in Rochester the Home of Steve Gadd he is on my list of favorites, I've also played (on trombone and Piano) and listened to a lot of Big band music and would have to put Gene Kurpa, and Buddy Rich on my list of favorites. I also really like the style of Levon Helmes playing with the Band. There are so many drummers out there that I really like to listen too, it's hard to pick favorites. |
