Yeah, he's endorsed my Mapex, Meinl and used to be with Zildjian. The speciality cymbal you refer to: the sound can be replicated with a remote (or not) hihat stand and a couple of Meinl 12" splashes. Try 10s if you're feeling adventurous. Has to be something light and bright like a Meinl though

He's done a great deal of session work and band work in the past and present, but you're right, I'd really like to hear his band too - it is much harder than playing along to MP3s
