Re: who do u think is the most over rated drummer/drummers?

When i think about what/who got me into drumming, there were many that would (in a traditional sense) not be "Great Drummers"! Anybody old enough to remember watching Animal on the Muppet Show for christ's sake!!! Watching players like Lars and Alex Van Halen live blew me away when I was young! Are they "great" drummers? I don't think so, but man did they MOVE me! Through the years, in my case, I was exposed to true musical masters in percussion (thank you Youtube). Did that make other drummers over-rated, I don't think so. If someone influences a new group of youngsters to pick-up sticks, more power to them! If you find someone over-rated, ask yourself if you ever tapped your feet along to one of their songs? Great website!!!!!!

Travis Barker. I also personaly think that drummers who do alot of stick tricks and drummers who are very technical but sound the same as every one else are overated.

I would definately have to say Tommy Lee from Motley Crue. His drum parts are pretty easy and sometimes boring. The only thing that is pretty cool are some of his drum solos. Plus, some of his drumsets looked pretty cool in the past.

Re: who do u think is the most over rated drummer/drummers?

I think the word overrated is an overstatement in its self. There are no overrated drummers they are all amazing in there own rite. Because they all play the best musical instrument ever invented and produced by man.. Overrated is probably just a term used to berate perhaps over flamboyant drummers or drummers who because of there bands success are in the back ground yet still get more recognition than some amazing drummers in poor bands who never get anywhere..Its catch 22..every drummer that gets behind a drum kit is amazing because most get chosen by fate and by having a skill to keep time having good hand to eye coordination and motor skills and the ability to do more than one thing at once so feminine traits too...That's it we are a bunch of girls but we don't know it....I say embrace all drummers we are part of the same family...
