Der,
Thanks again for posting the pics the right way. I just got back from the long haul from the concert and I sat behind him while he was playing drums. The cool thing is he waved after the show at me because he must have remembered me?
The fame thing has not went to his head he actually acted shocked that people showed up at the drum store to see him which is cool. He appears to be a normal nice guy that just can play drums really well. I got some sticks as well which is cool. They actually sounded really well must have had a good pa system but that is to be expected since they were the 2nd opening act for Metallica.
I watched a lot of hand and foot movements and it was awesome to be directly behind his kit. More interview chat i remember below.
I told him i thought about getting another bass drum but my double bass pedal appears to do the job. He told me to practice on chops and the double pedal is a lot better to have versus lugging around a double bass but its personal choice. Extra bass is great but it is better when someone else else sets up your kit and you dont have to pick it up
I think he was shocked that mentioned he used to be a bass player but i know his bio plus he lived in Richmond and went to VCU. I think he was kinda of shocked that i knew this. When he started playing drums roughly 10 years ago he never stopped.
I asked if he took lessons he said he is self taught. He watches a lot of other drummers and picks up his style that way and tries to write to the song which is cool.
I asked if he felt lucky to be were he is today. He said it has not thought about it because it feels that he is in the same spot 10 years ago

I guess fame has not went to his head.
He states that practice and more practice is the key and try to play with others which makes it better. If a drummer is not playing with other then get a CD out and put head phones on and play some beats. Listen to all sorts of music.
I asked how long did it take to grow the long goatee? Forever its still growing.
I told him that i wish him the best and if anything happens to his band to keep playing. He laughed and said he would.
Don't know if i mentioned this above i told him that his band and pantera would be a good show. He stated he liked those guys but the singer would probably have issues with each other.
Do you like playing anything slow? Sometimes but i like adrenaline type music and playing hard and fast to the music it is a good work out.
Who inspired you to learn drums or who's songs did you learn? Aerosmith because it got me in the groove to get me moving around the kit.
Do you like be on tour? Of course t is fun and you don't know what is going to happen or who is going to call and were you will
be.
I told him it was cool he liked spending time with his kid as i like spending time as well with mine.
I gotta do some work but i will be back on later.
