Re: Looking for home prjects They're gone now, but for something like 10 or 15 years Acoustic Alchemy was a great, underrated band. Not just acoustic, the two lead guitarists played their amplified acoustic and electric guitars as true virtuosos, dueling rapidly with each other, playing double leads, rhythm and lead -- whatever the song needed.
Classified as New Age, their songs ranged from Spanish-bolero work to hot rock, but more musical, with plenty of interludes and changes working between the verse and lead in each song.
Featuring both a drummer and a percussionist, they fit my mold -- many of the bands I like have two percussionists, although I don't realize it until see the band.
My favorite band until the death of one of the guitarists, I'm not sure you can even buy their CD's off the internet anymore. If you can, Against the Grain is a good first pick. My favorite group for 10 or 12 years. |
