Ok so I have my mind set on a dw edge snare after playing one at a local guitar center. It had badly tuned cheap heads on it and it STILL sounded amazing. I just got a quote on the one I want

-14x6 edge snare

-Black nickel hardware

-Rainbow wood exotic finish

All of this turned out to be around $1150. Considering that I'm only in highschool, thats a lot of dough for one drum. The max amount I would be willing to spend is about $800. Would anybody whose had experience with DW know what the cheapest finish would be, as in the finsh-ply or the satin? Obviously the exotic finish is a big problem here, but I don't want just the bare wood, what's the point of getting a DW without a cool finish? Also would anybody know if the black nickel hardware is adding money to the total? Any help would be greatly appreciated, all this custom drum pricing is confusing.

Turns out Guitar Center had a really nice collectors maple VLT snare for 500 bucks. It has black hardware and an ebony satin finish. So I picked it up, not quite exactly what I wanted but still really nice and a lot cheaper
