Re: Just came back from a day of drum hunting.. That is PDP's top of the line drum and if I am not mistaken they are Maple shells. They are very nice drums and for that price well worth considering.
First off tell the guy that you are very interested in them and that you want to inspect them as well as play them. If he wants to sell them he will comply, I personally would not buy anything (not just limited to drums) without being able to try it first. The fact that they are used means you can get a great set of drums for a great price, but it also means that you don't know the history of the drums either. When looking them over see if there are signs of abuse, for example scratched drums, dings or rub marks, if not the set has been well cared for.
Remember, you will always get more drums for the money buying a used set but make sure you are getting something that has been taken care of. |
