Tama Starclassic Maple or Bubinga

I want to buy a Tama Starclassic kit. Maple and Bubinga are the best, or so I've heard. I mostly play rock/metal/heavy metal music, so which kit would fit me the best?

Re: Tama Starclassic Maple or Bubinga

Probably the Performer. It is made of Birch/bubinga. The birch gives the nice attack and high end, as wel as projection. The bubinga warms up the sound and brings out a lot of low end tone.

If you want to go cheaper I would go with the Superstar all birch and throw some coated heads on it

Go to Drummerworld and there are discussions on that site that would help you out as well as you can ask questions. If I were you I would try out the Maple then Bubinga and then the combination then make the call. GOOD LUCK! SLINGERLAND
