It essentially is. Between the
Pearl and
Tama kits, the cymbals are shared. They share a china and a ride and the hat for the
Pearl acts as a, X-hat for the
Tama kit. Idea stolen from Mike Portnoy. Xp
The electronic pedal that is played by the right foot of the
Tama kit is connected to the Yoki (electroninc) brain. The left china on the
Tama kit is also playable by the Yoki kit.
So yeah, it is multiple sets and actually, I've had 2 students play the "outside" drums with me while I played my
Tama. I found it easier to teach drumming this way instead of always trading seats or yelling across the room. This way, we also share cymbals as I don't have enough stands to go around!
Besides, the reaction you get from people who walk into the room to see that thing for the first time is priceless!!
