Ive made up my mind...or have I ?

After careful consideration and deliberation, I have decided that Im going to treat myself , and my bandmates to a new Tama superstar hyperdrive , obviously I will have to go and sit behind one of these cool looking kits and get a feel for it but in essence , thats the one...unless you good people start yelling at me stop and offering me alternatives to try , the gauntlet is thrown !

I think this kit looks really good and the reviews I have read seem , on the whole , to rate the overall tone , sustain and attack that the Tama produces, the build quality seems good for this level of kit.I was looking for a kit that offered a little more choice when i came to tom placement.which the Tama does and because of the toms been mounted via cymbal stands the bass is undrilled, which I like, also the bass is nice and deep which I hope il enjoy playing.I have yet to sit behind it and try it out as yet and have an interest in the Ludwig maple kit which I will also try ...but im hoping that the Tama plays as well as it looks. It will be my 1st Tama too.

I almost bought one of these kits. I had a hard time finding an all birch one (most are birch/basswood), but once I did find one and played it, I decided against it and ended up buying a maple kit.

Are you going to get a wrap or lacquer? I dunno if they still sell lacquer on MF, you might have to go through a store or something. I dunno.

I say go for it, but try it against some other kits. The Mapex Meridian in the store next to the Tama I tried was a winner for me, but it was still a tough decision. I went back to the store about 9 times I wish I could just own both kits, but I'd probably buy a Meridian Birch before a Tama superstar because the Tamas are a bit less bright. Try out the Meridians if you can. Try out the Ludwigs you mentioned. Try out the Tamas. Make the BEST deciSIoN. Try out a Camaro. Or a Porsche. Just kidding. Good luck. Short sentences. I'm done.

Don't do it dude....think of it in 10 years time and it will be as out dated as a TAMA Rock star kit.
The band have sacked you because you look like a club band....Ludwig accent cs elite....the Tama is going to depreaciate in value like a new car and those finishes scratch like real bad like metal finishes do on a kitchen sink top comes to mind i looked at them too the TAMA kits are nice but nothing special the Ludwig will become Vintage dude....and remain an investment.....dude......a little nest egg for when you hang ya sticks up and retire...............
