Cool custom painted yamaha snare

hey guys i just finished up a little project. i painted my old chrome steel yamaha snare with some aresol paint. It didnt come out 100% but then again i dont have that much time or patients. i was just getting sick of the plain chrome snare. tell me what you think!

side notes:

-Changed the clutch throw off with a different yamaha one (also painted)

-Installed an adjustable snare muffler (also painted)

-20 strand 14'' pure sound blaster strainer

-14'' Black Aquarian Hi-Velocity Head

-14'' Stock Pearl Snare side head

Re: custom painted yamaha snare

heres some pictures of the snare drum with the kit. I am eventually going to have all the hard ware and rims powder-coated black. i think that will make it look unique, im in the process of buying some black lacquered wood bass rims as well.

When the kit is done it sounds like it will have visual impact for sure. The snare looks cool with the rest of the set.

hey thanks man, one thing i wish i did different was use a darker primer. i used white i think thats why it looks so light and almost pink (also because the flash from the camera) but i used a burgundy color i figured that would be better than corvette red or something bright like that. Trial and error my friend.

Looks good. You should see about buying some cheap(ish) snare drums online that come completely unassembled. DIY drums, you know. You could paint them and sell them off again for a pretty good profit. I have a friend who does this with guitars and he makes several hundred off of each one.

BTW, saw your post on Drumchat Just to let you know, that forum has a lot of weird members who don't really know how to act online. This forum is much better, I just wish it were a bit more active.
