Thats a no brainer from where I stand and here is why I say that.

The Dunnet snare is a far better purchase from a quality and value holding standpoint. The Accent is just an entry level kit and you will never get anywhere near what you spent on it down the road should you decide to sell it. The Dunnet snare, while you would most likely not get what you spent on it if you were to sell it, you would take a far far smaller loss if you did sell it off because of it's quality.

No-Brainer ! Mona me! you are little confused...Yes... the Ludwig Basic you refer to is the LC1251 accent...CS This is the entry kit priced at around £388 a 8ply select hard wood Vaneer and is a Gran-dad or starter kit agreed..and looks Un-cool...Agreed yes i would walk out the shop with the snair drum and turn my wardrobe into a drum kit..

However Mona me! The kit I mentioned "The Accent Cs Custom Elite" is a different animal..o yes indeedy. Its "Birch"bro .... its as good if not better then its rivals Pearl.Premier,Sonnor, Mapex and the rest DW who probably source from the same supplier and with a maple arriving soon....sharp intake of breath "check under pants".... slightly more competition i would say. So Mona Me! The saying is you cannot make a purse out of a sows ear..
Ludwig have done and will have success with it ..It looks like a pro kit....Propper paint job infused with glitter so it say on the tin not a cheap wrap...."why have one chocolate when you can feast on the box" Mona Me...you cant gig with just a snare drum hanging from your neck like a medal...however good it is and all its gonna do is make your kit sound inferior when you get it home.......Buy The Drum Kit....A..snare "sacra blue"
