Which should I get?

I am interested in getting roto toms with 3 all together in the group. But I might want to upgrade my snare drum to something much better.

What do you think is more useful and a better investment?

Hey kyle,
before i go looking, What style of music do you usually play?
What's your budget?
what snare do you have now?
I'll find some snares/ rotos for you in the mean time.
Good Luck!

My budget is 150$, and I got a Tama 16 inch snare (around that.) I play grunge/rock/alt.

Okay..
Any info on what tama it exactly it is?
My snare drum fits in. A Pearl Sensi Tone Steel snare drum. Sound is incredible. It cuts perfectly.
Rotos, Remo has rotos and there are many other companies that offer rotos. Let me get back to this tomorrow, and I'll see you then.
Cheers

Remo Roto Toms 6", 8" and 10" and more Add-On Packs at GuitarCenter.com.
These are $200, but worth it. It comes with a double braced stand as well.
You can look around for a more competitive price around e bay and amazon.
there are other rotos, but Remos are pretty reliable.
as for snares..
Ludwig Steel Shell Snare Drum and more Snare Drums at GuitarCenter.com.
This is generally the same as the sensitone...
Pearl Steel Firecracker Snare and more Snare Drums at GuitarCenter.com.
The firecracker is pretty explosive, and should work for your style.

Tama Superstar EFX Snare and more Snare Drums at GuitarCenter.com.
If you want to keep a tama snare... I haven't heard this one yet.. so if you can get a sound clip, that would help.

Pearl Wood Firecracker Snare and more Snare Drums at GuitarCenter.com.
generally the same as the steel firecracker, but it is steel, and wood sounds a bit different. It's made of poplar, which is usually a beginner wood, because it has a lot of different tones you can get out of it, and it is a blend of maple / birch.. part mellow and can be tuned to sound more like maple... but it contains no birch or maple.
