Smile Pearl Drums

Good Morning Drummers!

Someone said recently, that Pearl Drums are fading out and never was good.

I said that Pearl Drums are still alive and kicking. The export series back in the day is still alive and kicking in the studio as well live gigs. My son has the EXR export 7-piece set amber mist. He plays on Evan EC2 clear ring heads and He plays on Evans Onyx heads. I know that there are great drum sets out there such as DW, Gretsch, Ludwig, and Mapex Drums has moved up in the world. Mapex drum (Orion series/Saturn series) has a combination of Maple and walnut throughout each drumset. Holla Back Drummers

Re: Pearl Drums

Man I hope that Pearl is still going strong! As I just ordered their new Reference Pure in Scarlet Fade. It's a special order due to the 20 x 22 kick drum. Also ordered a 7 x 10, a 10 x 12 and a 16 x 16, also the 6.5 x 13 snare. It should be here around September. I really liked what I read, heard & saw about these! Will let you know when I get them!!

Re: Pearl Drums

Pearl is still a huge name in drums and I am sure it will stay that way. If I am not mistaken the Pearl Export was the best selling drum set in the Pearl line as well as the best selling kit in drum history.

I'm not surprised about the Export series. A friend of mine got them and they are great! And can't be beat for the money!!

Re: Pearl Drums

Pearl Drums have always and will always produce some of the best looking and best sounding drums. The hardware is second to none. Like the Demon Drive Pedal and their drum racks. I only see Pearl getting better and better. Now if they make a Bubinga kit, that would be killer. Pearl will always be strong. They have and will continue to set the standard.

Re: Pearl Drums

Good Morning Drummer World, Thank You for your opinions on the PEARL DRUMS. I thought the export series was/is the best drum set in the Pearl Drum line. A quality product for the price back in the day; Also, the Export Series is still played amongst pro drummers live on stage and in the studio today, do you drummers agree? I am glad my son has the last export series (EXR).

Drummers, Peace Out!!!!

Re: Pearl Drums

Well, I certainly hope that Pearl isnt going anywhere. I just got a pearl export series a few months back. Its a 6 piece set in a gun metal grey/glitter type paint job. I love it and am working on it every day. Not sure what year it was made. i got it for 500$ to include the cymbals. Not a big fan of the cymbals though and working on that issue. Im having trouble loading up pictures of it so that it can be seen but would love to find out how old it is and such. Its in excellent condition.

Load up your pics on PhotoBucket.com and post them here on the forum.

Another place would be FLKR.com

Once we see the badges on them, we'll be able to tell you more.

Good luck on your new kit.
