I have been thinking recently...

I can't decide which tom size to get, 13 or 18".
With a 13", it will get me one step closer to getting a dummy kick.
With a 18", it will bring me a deeper sound, which is somewhat a requirement for thrash/ death and black

Just learned about this guy today! Its not helping the 18" argument.

You could always use either and trigger them or you could go full out sub woofer in front also.

I not planning on buying triggers soon, especially since the electronic part is $$$, just using a double pedal would save tuning time.

Do you mean if you buy the 13" you'll be saving money so you can afford a second bass drum? I don't understand your lingo (feeling very old right now). I love 18" floor toms. If I could I'd put a 16 and 18 on both sides. The deeper the rumble, the better I think.

Exactly slinger, I'm still getting used to lingo too. As Grace Potters drummer said the 18" would make my kit a Bonham.

Ok I misunderstood what you were saying also Gus, I apologize. 18" hands down in my humble opinion.

Re: I have been thinking recently...

I'd recommend the 18 inch. The reason is because I have two floor toms, and the sound of two floors with the toms is fantasitic. Just thought I'd offer my opinion

I might give it about three months, I'm also looking at getting new cymbals... 18" seems to be leading.

I concur with the Der. 18" oak or maple?

More to think about even more recently.
