Remote Hi-Hat stands

A while ago I invested in the Pearl RH2000 remote hi-hat stand, I was wondering how many others round these parts use a remote stand?

I'm very pleasantly surprised by the feel of it, no sticking or delay to report and it has a whole bunch of adjustable settings.

I won't stop using a traditional stand, I'm considering using both - just to confuse my left foot because it'll have three pedals to choose from.

Actually - howz about the idea of using a remote hi hat pedal with the right foot (placed just in front of the bass drum) and playing the kick using the remote pedal with the left foot? Surely a good way to keep things moving creatively - your top half will be playing a right handed kit and bottom half a left handed. (Or vice-versa). I'm going to copyright that idea immediately.

I think my body would just be really really confused if I tried that.

I wish I had a two hi-hat setup. Marco Minnemann and Benny Greb can do the most insane things with more than one hi hat. Marco has four I think. Benny has three. (hi hats, that is.)

I use 2 sets of hi hats in my setup but my remote set is just a closed set of hi hats it dosnt have the pedal or cable or anything like that, I can adjust it though to get the sound out of the hats so open sound or closed sound.
I keep it right next to my ride and you can get some really cool combos from the ride to the hats going, I also found some really neat things with using both hats and ride in some weird combos.

I had an aux. hi hat setup like A. in the picture below. It was pretty cool.

I've mentioned in other posts that I'd seen Bozzio in clinic. At the time he was using four chinas set up on remote hi-hat stands. That was nuts. I think Ginger Fish from Marylin Manson uses some sort of weird direct remote bass pedal. I know he moved his bass drums way out in front and lowered his rack toms behind them but I don't know how he reached them with his feet.
