How did all of the snare drums turn out?
Very well, actually. It has been a great learning experience, putting together snare drums using a variety of shell materials, different dimensions, different hardware, etc. While "do it yourself" drum building certainly isn't the only way to learn about drums (and snare drums in particular), I've found that my understanding of how these instruments work, and how different components affect the sound and performance of a drum, has increased. Even with my "brand name" instruments, I now find it easier to get the sound(s) I want out of them.

I put 2 drumsets together that had the same size toms but the were diffrent depths so they all sound diffrent.
