Your first drumset ever.

Come on gang! Lets take a trip down memory lane and find out about our first kits. The bad points, the good points (if there were any), share your stories of that first musical punching bag.

Mine was a 4pc Power Beat kit with stage 14" hats. 22, 12, 16 and 14x5 snare. Oh it sounded apalling. It still had stock skins on the snare and bass and pearl skins on the toms. This thing was so flimsay, when I took the heads off the bass drum I could dribble it like a basket ball.

One of the legs was falling off the bass drum.
The foot pedal fell apart under the weight of its own spring within 2 weeks.
The top hat had three cracks in it and would pop inside out if you put any pressure on the pedal or hit it too hard.
It didn't come with a stool so I had to use an old chair from my shed with cracked vinyl that pinched my legs.
It cost me only $250 which I had to sell my Sega Megadrive 2 to raise.
And it was enough to fuel my unrelenting thurst for drumming, at least until I could scrape a grand together for my second kit.

So come on everone, spill.

My first kit was a 5 piece Slingerland Tiger Red Pearl kit. It had Zildjian cymbals (14" hats, a swizzle crash, and Ride.

This is the only picture I could find set up as a 4 piece.

My first kit was a baby blue "somthing" Have no idea what brand it is, I still have it. It dosnt have a name on it any where but it was old when I got it, it still has one of the old stile heads on the bass drum that looks like it could have come strit of of buddy richs kit, it is a remo head and it says on there for drum use only.
the peson that had it before me replaced all the hardwear with (at the time) new pearl hardwear.

the drum shop I bought it from thru in a "new" set of 14" pearl HI hats and a badly cracked Menil crash.

My first "set" was a snare and crash cymbal. It wasn't really a drumset but it was used for concert band practice and such. I forget what the exact brand and model were but my elementary school lent them out to us for practice. Back then I thought it was the best thing in the world and of course it served me very well.
