Dear Avenged
DrummerMom was wrong.....I invented the TwinSteele because there were lots of things I wanted to play that are impossible (for me) to EVER play on a conventional pedal. I could get into the music just fine, until I wanted to throw more than a note or two, then all of my concentration went into trying to get my foot right. Musically speaking, my pedal has set me free.
Try going to my website (Drumagination.com), go to the video page, look beyond the strangeness of my invention, and really listen to the notes that I'm able to play. Then get out your best pedal and try and duplicate it. I would be suprised if you can play anything on that page.
You mention double bass chops.....the truth is, you could be playing a note every time you raise a foot (if you want it), and doubling whatever speed you have. I only just recently started playing two pedals.....and it took me less than 10 minutes to learn to buzz roll with my feet. Can you think of a good reason to waste every upstroke?
You also mention the
Duallist (which I have never tried)......that pedal automatically gives you a second note, wanted or not. On my pedal, you have to physically play every note, which lets you add notes or speed only when desired.
I have also been converting conventional pedals into upstroke-able machines, and I have pictures of a two-stroke
Yamaha single and an
Axis double-double that you may want to see.
Best regards, and happy drumming......
